Premiere of Amor, dolor y viceversa

[imagen]Last night director Alfonso Pineda presented his debut film Amor, dolor y viceversa coproduced by Lemon Films, Filmax/Castelao, Vistahermosa Films.

Pineda said that his film, which has a fragmented structure, was influenced by directors such as Christopher Boe, the winner of the Camera d’Or for his film Reconstruction.

The director described Bárbara Mori, who acts in the film, as “a great actress who was hungry to play this role, showed incredible enthusiasm, talent, and did her best with the character. I think it ended up being really great, hopefully this role will allow Bárbara to break out of the world of soap operas.”

With a production cost of US$34 million, Amor, dolor y viceversa, will open in theaters in February. “In the meantime, it will continue doing the festival circuit. It was in Tribeca, and now it’s on its way to San Francisco, and we have some other invitations.”

During the film’s red carpet event, producers Billy Rovzar, Fernando Rovzar, Alexis Friedman and Alejandro García got together with the cinematographer Damián García.

During the presentation Rovzar told Pineda, “So now the box office is mine, and the festival is yours.

Amor, dolor y veceversa is the story of Chelo who has been obsessed with a prince charming who visits her each night in her dreams. Dr. Márquez has been plagued by nightmares of a woman murdering him—the same woman every night, whom he swears he has never met. Both Chelo and Dr. Márquez resort to the police to find their dream counterparts, accusing them of different crimes and providing perfect descriptions for the composite sketches. But when the police apprehend the suspects, Chelo and Dr. Márquez find themselves face to face, and the truth about their connected past begins to invade their fantasies.
