He added that Janet Alcoriza entered the film industry long before her husband, Luis Alcoriza—whose own career as an auteur film director is much better known.Orozco shared a brief biographical sketch of the artist to introduce the photographic exhibition, which portrays her career as an actress, dancer, and screenwriter. “Exhibiting two galleries is a way in which we seek to portray her career as a versatile woman in the film industry,” he explained.Daniela Michel invited attendees to visit the exhibition and to watch the films included in the festival’s current program. Finally, Orozco explained how to navigate the exhibition to appreciate its dual structure and fully appreciate the artistic legacy of Janet Alcoriza—who was also known by the names Janet Riesenfeld, Raquel Rojas, and Raquel Alcoriza. In this way, the exhibition seeks to bring the public closer to the different facets of a woman whose contribution is part of the history of Mexican cinema.
