The director expressed his gratitude with the FICM for including the film in the Autores program that is made up of films by filmmakers with an outstanding track record in international festivals. José María de Tavira, Paulina Dávila Perdida is a remake of the Colombian film, La cara oculta (2011) by Andrés Baíz which tells the story of Eric, who is hired as the new conductor of the Philharmonic of Mexico City and moves to the city with Carolina, his wife. Everything is perfect until one day she disappears. Eric, immersed in pain at the apparent abandonment of Carolina, meets Fabiana, the waitress of a bar he usually frequents. They begin a relationship full of mystery, sex and passion, but Fabiana questions about Carolina’s misterious disappearance.
