A native of the south of Italy, Tony Vilar arrived in Argentina as a small child and became one of the most important and successful Latin American singers in the 1960s. Author of the internationally recognized melody “Cuando calienta el Sol,” Vilar retreated from the limelight when he was at the height of his career. The enigma surrounding his sudden disappearance attracted the attention of director Gagliardi, who decided to follow his tracks from Italy to Buenos Aires, and from Buenos Aires to New York.
