Hugo flees the violence in Guerrero, Mexico. As he watches whales swimming in the cold Baja California ocean, he narrates the murder of his 14-year-old brother, an experience that has plunged him into deep loneliness and grief. This 16-year-old is sure of one thing: he wants to cross the border into the US and meet his father.
