A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Morgue

A short film about what in Mexico is called “videohomes”: B movies that go directly to video and exploit commercially successful formulas, usually about violence, drug trafficking, or sex. Crossing the boundaries between fiction and documentary, the film appropriates the styles, codes, and archetypes of this medium, paying an exceptional homage to a film industry that keeps the social imaginary alive.
