This film recounts the Biblical story of Job in modern-dayRussia. Kolia lives in a small town near the sea. He runs  an auto-repair shop and lives with his young wife, Lilya, and his son from a previous marriage. The Mayor, Vadim  Sergeyich, wants to take away Kolia’s business, his house and his land. Kolia asks his best friend, Dmitri, a lawyer from Moscow, to help him, unaware that this will change his life forever.
