2010 | B/N | 78 min Documentary composed of images that were rescued, preserved and digitally restored by the UNAM Film Archive, with the support of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). The film shows the period prior to the Mexican Revolution, beginning with the end of the Porfirio Díaz regime, the subsequent social uprising, the short-lived government of Madero, and the presence of the popular classes in the figures of Villa and Zapata, leading up to the ratification of the 1917 Constitution. The film is made with moving images registered during these historical events, primarily by pioneer filmmakers, the Alva brothers, and reveals the contradictory and fearful gaze of the contemporary population.
