The Sacred Flame is a symphonic rock opera based on a Florentine legend. The dialogues of the movie are in verse, as in the classical theater. It tells the story of a blacksmith who enlists with the Crusaders. After seizing Jerusalem, he lights up a candle in the tomb of Christ and takes a dare of carrying it by himself to Florence. On his rough journey home, he reflects upon the meaning behind the sacred flame and changes his life for good.
