The Meaning of Life

Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? The Monty Python team tries to answer these questions through a comical series of sketches that explore the seven mythical ages of humanity, from birth to death. This film is the last of the Monty Python film series, but it is at the same time a return to the first works, with a narrative structured in a nonlinear way.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Dr. Parnassus, an immortal who made a pact with the devil, takes his traveling theater company to the street offering a marvelous spectacle: entering an imaginary world where dreams come true. No one knows that every person who enters the imaginery world is forced to confront the devil and choose between good and evil. Nor does anyone know that because of an old bet, the immortal man’s daughter will soon become the devil’s property. In an attempt to save her, he makes another bet: the first one to seduce five souls will be able to keep her.
