Two urban bus companies are in dispute over control of the Zócalo-Xochicalco- Anexas route in Mexico City, using all sorts of tricks to achieve their goal. Gregorio del Prado, the boastful driver who is in love with Cholita, decides in his own way how to resolve the situation. The motorized events of the protagonists are Alejandro Galindo’s pretext to orchestrate an invaluable filmic portrayal of Mexico City in accelerated expansion.

Gregorio, a bus driver and amateur baseball player, meets Kitty at a party and leaves his pregnant wife Cholita. When Cholita moves in with Constantino Reyes Regalito and his wife La Bicha, they start a taco stand together. Later, Kitty and Gregorio get into an accident that lands him in jail and leaves her disfigured. Once released, a remorseful Gregorio reconciles with Cholita, who has managed to survive and prosper.
