Chocó is a 27-year-old black woman who was forced off her land by violence. She has two children and a husband, Everlides, who only knows how to play the marimba, drink viche and play dominoes. In the morning, she searches for gold in the river, and in the evening, she washes clothes to earn money to feed and educate her children. It is little Candelaria?s birthday and for the first time Chocó promised her a cake. However, things get complicated and a series of unexpected events are triggered.
