Olivier Assayas arrives today at FICM

Assayas's films deal with complex characters, in which nuances are as important as contrasts, such as in Carlos, a project proposed as a TV mini series by Canal Plus de Francia. The film, which was given an out-of-competition slot at the Cannes Festival 2010, is about the life of Illich Ramírez "El Chacal," a Venezuelan terrorist whose attacks spread fear around the world during the decade of the seventies. Actor Edgar Ramírez (who is also a guest at FICM) starred in the 165-minute film version.

Olivier Assayas arrives today at FICM to present Après mai nd talk with the public after the screening.
