Mexican producer and actress Olga Segura will attend the 17th FICM to present Waiting for the Barbarians

We are pleased to announce that Mexican producer Olga Segura will visit the 17th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) for the press conference and screening of Waiting for the Barbarians.

The also actress, known for her leading role in the films González and Verónica and for her role as producer in the films The Truth About Emanuel and The Dinner, comes back as producer next to Michael Fitzgerald (Los tres entierros de Melquíades Estrada), Andrea Lervolino and Monica Bakardi (All Roads Lead to Rome) in the film Waiting for the Barbarians, which will be the closing film of the 17th FICM.

Released at the last Venice International Film Festival, Waiting for the Barbarians is based on the novel by South African writer J.M. Coetzee, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2003, and it is directed by renowned Colombian director Ciro Guerra, who was an Oscar nominee for his film El abrazo de la serpiente. The cast is made up of great actors including the Oscar winner for the film Bridge of Spies, Mark Rylance, who plays the Magistrate; Mongolian actress Gana Bayarsaikhan; Johnny Depp, as Colonel Joll; and Robert Pattinson, in the character of Mandel.

Olga Segura, who participated in this project as one of the main producers, was named in May 2019 by Forbes magazine as one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico and was also selected as “Revelation Actress 2015” by GQ magazine. Olga currently resides in Los Angeles and is founder of the Decididas movement, which seeks to raise awareness about the decisions we make daily to generate positive changes in our society.
