Su experiencia profesional incluye tanto la parte creativa como el negocio del cine. Ha escrito y producido varios largometrajes en Estados Unidos y México. Participó como productor en la película Chronic (2015) de Michel Franco, ganadora de la Palma de Oro a Mejor Guión en el 68° Festival de Cine de Cannes. Su ópera prima 600 Millas (2015) se ha presentado en diversos festivales de cine alrededor del mundo, entre ellos, el 51° Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias (FICCI), Colombia; el 63° Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián, España; el 44° Festival du Nouveau Cinéma en Montreal, Canadá; y en el 13° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). 600 Millas obtuvo el Premio a Mejor Ópera Prima en el 65° Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín (Berlinale), Alemania; el Premio Mezcal a Mejor Película Mexicana en el 30° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), México; el Premio a Mejor Actor en el 23° Art Film Fest en Eslovaquia; y los premios a Mejor Ópera Prima y Mejor Actor en el 19° Festival de Cine de Lima PUCP, Perú.
