Socio fundador del estudio creativo PIANO, ha participado en numerosos festivales nacionales e internacionales, entre ellos, dos ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Trabajó como director de fotografía, editor y co-guionista, en el largometraje de José Álvarez, Canícula (2011), que formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 9° FICM y que obtuvo, entre otros reconocimientos, el premio de la crítica FIPRESCI en el 14° Festival Internacional de Cine de Tesalónica (TIFF por sus siglas en inglés), Grecia; el premio SIGNIS del 24° Encuentro Cinelatino de Toulouse, Francia; y el Premio del Jurado Joven del 1er Riviera Maya Film Festival (RMFF), México. Compitió en el 10° FICM con su cortometraje de ficción Ismael (2012) y con su ópera prima Halley (2012). Esta última recorrió más de 50 festivales alrededor del mundo, entre ellos, el 42° Festival Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam (IFFR por sus siglas en inglés) y el 29° Festival de Cine de Sundance, y obtuvo, entre otros reconocimientos, el premio al Mejor Nuevo Director en el 31° Festival de Cine de Múnich, Alemania; el premio Nuevas Visiones en el 46° Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Cataluña Sitges, Barcelona; y Mejor Fotografía en el 34° Festival Internacional de Cine de Durban (DIFF por sus siglas en inglés), Sudáfrica. Fue director de fotografía del largometraje documental de Nicolás Echevarría, Eco de la montaña (2013), película ganadora, del Premio Especial del Jurado y del Premio Mezcal a Mejor Película Mexicana en el 29° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), y del Premio a Mejor Documental en el 18° Festival de Cine de Lima, Perú. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates.
