Estudió, además, Dirección y Actuación en el Foro Teatro Contemporáneo, México, fundado por el célebre dramaturgo y director de teatro Ludwik Margules. Ha obtenido en dos ocasiones el premio Ariel a Mejor Cortometraje de Ficción: por Café Paraíso (2007) en la 51ª entrega de los premios Ariel y por El último canto del pájaro Cú (2010) en la 53ª edición; seleccionado, este último, en el 8º Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Su largometraje de ficción Güeros (2014) formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 12º FICM, donde obtuvo el premio a Mejor Largometraje Mexicano, el Premio del Público, Mejor Primer o Segundo Largometraje Mexicano y Mejor Actor para Tenoch Huerta, Sebastián Aguirre y Leonardo Ortizgris. Su cortometraje de ficción, Verde (2016), es parte de la Selección Oficial del 14º FICM.
