Su obra ha recorrido numerosos festivales alrededor del mundo, entre ellos, tres ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Participó en el 6° FICM con su ópera prima, Intimidades de Shakespeare y Víctor Hugo (2008), por la que obtuvo, entre otros premios, Mejor Película y Premio del Público en el 10° Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente (BAFICI), Argentina; Mención Especial del Jurado y Premio Especial del Público en el 5° Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Navarra Punto de Vista, España; Premio de la Crítica Cinematográfica en el 23° Festival Internacional de Cine de Friburgo (FIFF por sus siglas en francés), Suiza; Mejor Documental en el 12° Festival de Cine de Lima, Perú; y el premio Ariel a Mejor Ópera Prima en la 51ª entrega de los premios Ariel, México. Compitió en el 9° FICM con su segundo largometraje, Paraísos Artificiales (2011), realizada con el apoyo del TFI Documentary Fund 2009, de Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), Nueva York; del Programa de Fomento a Proyectos y Coinversiones del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) 2010, México; y del Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) del Festival Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam (IFFR por sus siglas en inglés), Países Bajos, entre otros. Su tercer largometraje Fogo (2012) formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 10° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) y de la 44ª Quincena de Realizadores, sección paralela del 65° Festival de Cannes, Francia. Esta película fue realizada durante el Programa de Residencias Artísticas de Fogo Island Art Corporation, Canadá, con el apoyo del Fondo para la Producción Cinematográfica de Calidad (FOPROCINE), en 2011. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult.
