Ha participado en tres ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). En el 1er FICM obtuvo una Mención Especial por su cortometraje de ficción Los no invitados (2003), ganador además del Premio al Mejor Cortometraje Internacional en la 46ª entrega de los premios Ariel. Su ópera prima Párpados azules (2007) se estrenó en el 5° FICM y recorrió más de 30 festivales alrededor del mundo; obtuvo, entre otros premios, el Ariel a Mejor Ópera Prima en la 50ª entrega de los premios Ariel; el Premio Especial del Jurado en el 24° Festival de Cine de Sundance; y una Mención Especial en la sección Horizontes Latinos del 55° Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián. En el ciclo en homenaje a Pepe Escriche del 6° FICM, presentó su cortometraje El milagro (2000); ganador, entre otros premios, del Premio a Mejor Cortometraje Internacional de Ficción en el 9° Festival Chileno Internacional de Cortometraje de Santiago FESANCOR, Chile, y de una Mención Especial en el 28° Festival Internacional de Cine de Huesca, España. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates.
