Su documental, El árbol, participó, entre otros festivales, en el prestigioso festival holandés de documental IDFA, además, en el Short Film Corner del 67º Festival de Cannes, y ganó el Premio Danzante a Mejor Documental en el 41º Festival Internacional de Cine de Huesca, España; Mejor Documental Mexicano en el 16º Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés), México. En el 2014 obtuvo la beca Jóvenes Creadores por parte del FONCA. En el 2016 recibió el apoyo a Creadores Cinematográficos por parte del IMCINE. En el 2017 fue ganador del Estimulo Gabriel García Márquez con su proyecto La Educación que Silencia. Fundó su productora La Oscuridad de la Nube, en donde realizó de manera independiente el cortometraje documental Los árboles no dejan ver el bosque.
