Boy Meets Girls tells the story of Alex, a young man who dreams of being a filmmaker. After being left by his girlfriend for his best friend Thomas, and after trying to strangle him, Alex wanders the streets of Paris and arrives at a party where he meets Mirelle, who has also been abandoned by her boyfriend. Amid applause, the audience received the director who answered some questions at the end of the film. Leos Carax confessed to being a shy person and thanked cinema for giving him the opportunity to say with images what isn't possible to say with words. Boy Meets Girl (1984, dir. Leos Carax) "Life is a risk. There's nothing without it,” he answered when asked why he decides to take risks in his work. For Carax it is clear that cinema must always be a risk: "cinema ceases to be wonderful the moment the viewer knows what they are going to see, or what direction the film will take." To the surprise of those present, Leos Carax said he did not feel like a director, because behind him there is a whole team supporting him. Throughout his career, he has felt the support of his producers, photographers, and friends who in many cases have helped him choose the actors – one of his biggest fears is "not choosing the right artists," and the movie being good depends on this. Asked how he develops his characters, he replied, "When young directors ask me where to start, I always answer, 'Find the right people.'"
