Synopsis:

This is a story of a man in free fall. On the road to redemption, darkness lights his way. Connected with the afterlife, Uxbal is a tragic hero and father of two who, sensing the danger of death, struggles with a tainted reality and a fate that works against him in order to forgive, for love, and forever.

Biutiful stars Javier Bardem, winner of the Best Actor prize at Cannes 2010, Maricel Álvarez, Argentine actress who makes her debut in the film, and Spanish actors Eduard Fernández and Rubén Ochandiano. As is customary in Iñárriut’s films, Biutiful also includes a mixture of new faces, non-actors from different parts of the world.

Biutiful is a production by Menage Atroz (Mexico) and Mod Producciones (Spain), in co-production with Ikiru Films and in assocation with Focus Features Interntional. Televisión España and Televisión de Catalunya also participated in the film.
