During his speech, Alejandro Ramírez said that the actress was receiving the award for “her courage and commitment to the art of interpretation.” “Movies have been my life. Not just for me, but for many people. It’s not only me; there are the people who filmed me, the people who illuminated these scenes, those who edited, those who wrote all these stories. All those people who were around to make this possible,” Binoche said when receiving the award. She added that she feels very privileged to have been able to devote herself to acting: “Because acting is a gift, a gift that opens our hearts, that opens our minds. It is important to be mindful of the movies we choose to watch, especially in these times.” “As an artist, what I want is to tell the truth and inspire other people. This film you are about to see is something I have always wanted to do. I am not a dancer, and in fact, I wasn't an actress at first either. It's something that happened along the way. What I always wanted to do was tell stories and say yes to this dream we created together. We must be aware that we all have this gift, and it is a gift that we alone can give to ourselves. Ultimately, that is the purpose of life, to be able to give ourselves this opportunity," she added. In 2007, French actress Juliette Binoche and British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan left their established careers behind to embark on a daring artistic experiment. Over seven months, they co-created In-I, an intense and revolutionary show that they performed 100 times around the world.Today, Juliette Binoche revisits that intimate journey. From the first spark of inspiration to the final applause, she traces the emotional and creative arc of a unique collaboration. Drawing on dozens of hours of unpublished material, she reflects, as a filmmaker, on the nature of artistic creation, the vulnerability and euphoria of taking risks, and the personal transformation they demand. In addition, the actress unveiled a commemorative armchair with her name stitched on it, which will remain in Screening Room 4 of Cinépolis Morelia Centro.
