Gallardo The president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, John Bailey, presented The Lawless (1950), by Joseph Losey, during the 17th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). John Bailey "I am very pleased that Daniela Michel is presenting this film which shows Losey’s political sensitivity in a very special way and I think it is worth seeing, since it is about racial and social prejudices, and the racism of white people in the United States, attitudes that are alive today even from the government," said John Bailey. The Lawless chronicles the adventures of a journalist who, after leaving his comfortable life in California, United States, is in trouble for defending a Mexican fruit picker. The screening of the film is part of the México imaginario program, designed by French filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier.
