Jodie Foster to Receive the Artistic Excellence Award at the 21st Edition of FICM

Legendary actress and film director Jodie Foster will receive the Artistic Excellence Award at the 21st edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) in recognition of her extraordinary career and valuable contribution to the film industry.

Additionally, Foster will host a Masterclass at the Melchor Ocampo Theatre.

In a career spanning over 50 years, Jodie Foster has worked with notable filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese, Robert Zemeckis, Roman Polanski, Jean Pierre Jeunet and David Fincher. She made her motion picture directorial debut in 1991, and went on to direct Home for the Holidays and Money Monster, among other, as well as TV shows episodes.  

The Artistic Excellence Award was presented for the first time in 2018 to Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón and has since been awarded to renowned filmmakers such as Robert Redford, Claire Denis and Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

The 21st FICM will take place from October 20 to 29 in Morelia, Michoacán, with online screenings via Canal 22 and FilminLatino.
