They must travel from Buenos Aires to Spain after receiving the news that their daughter, Kim, has been found dead. Upon their arrival, they discover that she has left behind a son—their grandson—whose whereabouts are unknown, prompting them to remain in Spain to find him.The screening is part of an exchange between the FICM and the Buñuel-Calanda International Film Festival (BCIFF), held in the birthplace of director Luis Buñuel. The presentation was led by filmmaker Javier Espada, who thanked the FICM for providing a platform to screen the film for a Mexican audience. He also shared a message from the director, Ángeles González-Sinde, who expressed her gratitude to Espada for his role in facilitating and championing the film, and to the festival for the invitation. In her message, the director emphasized that "The film speaks about how we can rebuild ourselves and move forward after a tragedy, but it also speaks about uprooting and about being able to build an identity far from home." She further invited the audience to enjoy and share the film, which is based on a novel previously written by the director herself.Espada, for his part, highlighted the film's message of hope and the importance of cinematic productions that strive to tell stories with sensitivity and intimacy: "I think the film speaks of hope and of a kind of cinema that I believe is very necessary, not the kind made by big co-productions, but a kind of cinema that has a lot of truth within it, because what it tells is told from a place of great affection and a very small budget, where you have to concentrate on what is essential, and Ángeles achieves that very well." The film premiered at the 29th Malaga Film Festival, where Daniela Michel, general director and founder of FICM, and Javier Espada had the opportunity to see it. Regarding the film, Espada remarked, “It’s not a big-budget production, yet I don’t think it lacks anything. It might even elicit a laugh, as tragedy is not at odds with a sense of humor.” Finally, he expressed his hope that the audience would enjoy the film.
