During this, his second visit to the festival -the first was in 2019-, his work A Room with a View (1985), a film that won the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) for best film, was screened. The story follows Lucy Honeychurch, a young Englishwoman full of life, as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery in Italy. When she and her chaperone find themselves in Florence with rooms with no view of the outside, Mr. Emerson and his son George step in to remedy the situation. Lucy falls in love with George, a free and unconventional spirit, but is then forced to choose between her heart's desire and the expectations of her social class. A Room with a View (1985, dir. James Ivory) It was without a doubt a milestone project for many of the actors, who were making their first moves in the industry, such as Helena Bonham Carter, who has since been nominated for two Academy Awards. Before viewers enjoyed the film, Ivory shared his delight, as the film marked an important moment in his life and career. "It was quite difficult to get the money to finance a film back then, but fortunately it was successful, which made it easier to continue on the same path."
