The filmmaker and special guest at the 17th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), James Ivory, presented Quartet (1981) and unveiled the armchair with his name, in the company of Alejandro Ramírez, president of the Festival, and Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel, vice president.

James Ivory

The film is located in the early  20th century and tells the story of Marya, a young low-income bohemian who begins a relationship with a wealthy English couple after her husband is arrested for robbery. Ivory commented that the plot is a true story based on the novel by writer Jean Rhys, and that was the reason why he was drawn to the theme: "I was interested because it is about Paris in the twenties, when for many young North Americans that Paris was very significant, for me it was during my younger years."
