Jacinta in San Diego Film Festival

Karla Castañeda´s short film, Jacinta, which won in the category of Best Animation Short Film in the last FICM, will participate in the 16th Edition of the International Latin American Film festival of San Diego that will be held from march 12 till march 22nd.

This festival will screen a vast selection of Mexican films. One of them is Sleep Dealer by Alex Rivera. This movie was premiered in the last Edition of FICM. There will also be shown Bajo la sal by Mario Muñoz, Amor, dolor y viceversa by Alfonso Pineda Ulloa and Intimidades de Shakespeare y Victor Hugo, by Yulene olaizola, nominated in the category of Best Film in the next Ariel awards; the two last movies were part of the competition of FICM last year. Rudo y Cursi by Carlos Cuaron will be screened as well as Luz Silenciosa by Carlos Reygadas and Lake Tahoe by Fernando Eimbcke, the last two are award winning filmmakers who got the Premio Tequila Tradicional on FICM.

On march 19th there will be a homage in honor of Mexican filmmaker Julian Hernandez with the exhibition of his film Rabioso sol, rabioso cielo, winner of the Teddy award on the last Berlin film festival and of whom the short film Bramadero was shown on FICM 2008.
