Hugo Villa In the presentation, Villa thanked the FICM for incorporating the archival films into programming, because the historical importance of past cinema in the present is undeniable: “I thank the Morelia Festival very much, because since its first edition it has given a voice to archive cinema and that contributes to its continued restoration.” In the same way, he highlighted the restoration process, which involves a great variety of tools, mainly digital. According to the Film Library director, the film was inspired by a story and written to be filmed in the center of Guadalajara, in collaboration with a filmmakers’ workshop in that State. In addition, Villa told about Guillermo del Toro’s participation in the film as executive producer and as an extra when he was still studying film.
