The Durango-born director was an essential part of the cultural life of Mexico during the 20th century. Director and promoter in some of the most important theater companies in the first half of the 20th century, his career as a filmmaker, made up of nearly fifty films, began in the forties and places him as a cornerstone of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.
