FICM 2010 winners at Cineteca Nacional

On Friday, Oct. 29, the films from the Michoacán Section that received awards and honorable mention will be presented at two screenings, at 6 pm and 8 pm.

The movies in this program include: Best Feature Film in the Michoacán Section, Amaren Ideia (Mom’s Idea), by Maider Oleaga, and the fiction short that won the Premio Especial iSat, Hablando de Jirafas, by Francisco Fuentes Lara and Patricia Fuentes Lara.

The shorts that received honorable mention will also be screened: Ni una gota más (Won’t Spend a Drop More), by Jonathan Israel Antonio Garcés, and La bella soñante (Dreamy Beauty) by Omar Hernández Peña.

The prize-winning films from the Michoacán Section were chosen from among 13 short films and documentaries that participated this year in that section.

Audience Award FICM 2010

The Mexican feature film that received the Audience Award, Acorazado, by Álvaro Curiel, will be shown at 8 pm. The director will be present for a question and answer session following the screening.

The Audience Award is given to the film that wins the highest number of votes from the audience who attended the screenings in Morelia. Ballots are distributed during the week at the showings of the Mexican feature films in competition.
