“Welcome, we are delighted to have you here today. We are very grateful that he has made space in his very busy schedule to come and join us here. We are great admirers of his work and before starting the film we want to ask him to unveil his commemorative movie armchair,” Alejandro Ramírez said before the screening.

The event was accompanied by the screening of the documentary Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story (2021, Dir. Ryan Suffer, Frank Marshall). “I am very pleased to be here, it is the first time that I come to Morelia, and I feel very honored to know that I will always be here. The movie that we are going to see today was shot in 2019 and it took us a few years for it to come to light for reasons that everyone knows. This is a film about the New Orleans Jazz Festival, which takes place every year in this city and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2019. But what I wanted to show is not only that year of the festival but all 50 years. There were so many stories to tell about music, about musical heritage. It's a festival that lasts eight days, takes place on fourteen stages, and has 7 thousand musicians on stage. Choosing the story I wanted to tell was difficult, but I hope you enjoy the stories I chose and also enjoy the music,” Frank Marshall added.

At the end of the screening, director Frank Marshall participated in a Q&A.
