FICM Inaugurated Impulso Morelia 8 at the University Cultural Center

Impulso Morelia 8 was inaugurated at the 20th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), a space that since 2015 has offered a program of Mexican feature films in different stages of editing and post-production with the aim of generating a constructive dialogue on the proposals and offer them international visibility.

The selected feature films will be presented exclusively to a panel of experts that will be made up of Laurent Cantet, one of the most prominent contemporary French filmmakers, winner of the Cannes Palme d'Or for Entre les murs; Daniela Alatorre, producer, director and cultural promoter with solid experience in the documentary film industry and founder of the company No Ficción; Claudia G. Covarrubias, producer and director committed to the creation and dissemination of films with a social and gender perspective, and currently director of production and marketing at Churubusco Azteca Studios; Mathilde Henrot, renowned curator and programmer of major international film festivals and co-founder of the Festival Scope & Festival Scope Pro online service; Alessandro Raja, prominent programmer with years of experience in the industry and also co-founder of Festival Scope & Festival Scope Pro; Patricia Riggen, Mexican film and television director with a successful career in the American audiovisual industry; and Kyzza Terrazas, Mexican writer and filmmaker with a relevant career, currently in charge of development and creative production at La Corriente del Golfo.

The winners of the awards will be announced at FICM’s closing ceremony.
