FICM To Show Revolución in Cannes

Señora Pájaro tells the story of Lara, a sick little girl who sees life pass by from her balcony. She “meets” Sole, a woman who has lost the desire to live, on the front balcony. The two develop a relationship from afar, based on silences and the exchange of glances.

Revolución, which had a special screening at the Sundance Festival, brings together 10 short films by Mexican filmmakers Mariana Chenillo and Amat Escalante, winners of FICM 2008; Fernando Eimbcke, Premio Tequila Cuervo FICM 2008; Gael García Bernal, Gerardo Naranjo, Rodrigo Plá and Carlos Reygadas whose first feature films or second works have been exhibited at FICM; Diego Luna, who has presented Festival Ambulante, Gira de Documentales (Ambulante traveling documentary film festival) since 2005, as well as Patricia Riggen and Rodrigo García.

Since its founding in 2003, FICM has maintained a close alliance with the International Critics’ Week. Every year, the festival program includes a sample of films from the Critics’ Week, and the Cannes festival shows the winning films from the previous edition of FICM.
