Revolución premieres Saturday

The feature film had its world premiere at the International Film Festival in Berlin and its first screening in Mexico at the 8th Morelia International Film Festival.

Revolución is co-directed by Mariana Chenillo and Amat Escalante (winners FICM 2008), Fernando Eimbcke (Premio Tequila Cuervo FICM 2008), Patricia Riggen (selection FICM 2005), Gael García Bernal, Gerardo Naranjo, Rodrigo Plá and Carlos Reygadas, whose first and second works were screened at FICM; Diego Luna, who has presented Festival Ambulante, Gira de Documentales since 2005, and Rodrigo García.

The film, produced by CANANA, will also be shown internationally on YouTube the same day, for a period of 48 hours. In Mexico, it can be viewed for 24 hours following its television premiere.

Mubi, through its channel on You Tube (www.youtube.com/mubi), will distribute the film through the navigator of your choice to telephones, televisions, computers and PlayStation3.

On Nov. 21, the film will be premiered through CANANA OnDemand, on Cablevision. This weekend it will also be launched in Blue-Ray and DVD formats in two editions: one, that is economical, and a collector’s edition that includes additional material.

The film will premiere at Cinépolis theaters on Monday, Nov. 22, and at independent theaters on Nov. 25.

There will also be a launching of the book “Revolución: 10 Directores, 10 Escritores,” that contains special information about the film and essays written by Jorge Volpi, Fabrizio Mejía Madrid, Sergio González Rodríguez, and others.

Revolución had a special screening, organized in coordination with the Morelia International Film Festival at the 49th edition of Critic’s Week at Cannes. Also shown at the event was Señora Pájaro (Mrs. Bird) by Véronique Decrous and Julio Bárcenas, Best Short Film FICM 2009.
