The producer Nicolás Celis will participate in the TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event

With support from the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), Mexican producer Nicolás Celis will be part of the TFL Meeting Event, which for a decade has represented the annual showcase of projects, talents and films developed at TorinoFilmLab, as well as a global forum of co-productions for independent films.

The founder of Pimienta Films and producer of films like Tempestad (2016, director Tatiana Huezo), which was part of Impulso Morelia 2015, will be part of the new TFL Up & Coming initiative, which aims to support emerging non-European producers to establish professional collaboration links. Celis will participate in the new feature film project by Tatiana Huezo, Noche de fuego, whose screenplay was selected for the first MORELIA SUNDANCE SCREENPLAY LAB, held within the last edition of FICM. It is the first fiction project of the talented director.

Nicolás Celis is known for working on original projects with great artistic content and strong impact. His first projects include the horror film We Are What We Are (2010, directed by Jorge Michel Grau), which competed for the Caméra d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and more than 30 international festivals. Produced Desierto (2016), by Jonás Cuarón, winner of the FIPRESCI Prize of the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), Soy Nero (2016), by Rafi Pitts, which was in competition at the Berlinale (International Film Festival of Berlin) along with Tempestad, which received a Special Mention from the Caligari Prize Jury. He also worked on Amat Escalante's latest film, The Untamed (2016), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won the Best Director Award. Currently, Nicolás is working in the postproduction of Alfonso Cuarón's new film, Rome.

The TorinoFILMLab will be carried out as one of the parallel activities of the 35th edition of the Turin Film Festival.
