FICM collaborates with the Curaçao IFFR

After a successful first edition of the Curaçao IFFR, the festival has decided to initiate the Yellow Robin Award for its 2013 edition, which will take place from April 4 to 7. For the Yellow Robin Award the Curaçao IFFR is teaming up with film festivals, film commissions and film institutes in the region, including the FICM.

Each collaborating institution will propose an upcoming filmmaker, who will then be invited to attend the Curaçao IFFR as a nominee for the Yellow Robin Award. An international jury, consisting of Rutger Wolfson, director of the IFFR, David Pinedo, film critic and script advisor, and Bernadette Heiligers, producer and public relations expert, will announce the winner of the Yellow Robin Award. The winner will receive the following:

  • A ten thousand dollar cash prize rewarded by the Fundashon Bon Intenshon.
  • An invitation to attend the IFFR 2014, where a custom-made program will be put together for the filmmaker, enabling the filmmaker to network with the international film professionals present at the festival.
  • A screening of the award winning film during the IFFR 2014.
  • If the winner has a suitable new film project, this project will be taken into consideration for support by the IFFR’s Hubert Bals Fund and official CineMart selection. This, however, depends on the project and is therefore not guaranteed.
