However, when being shown, as the format is short, programs of three or six films are shown at once, and people watching often forget the separate films when the screening is over, losing the thread of the stories they have seen. But the short film is also very enjoyable, filmmaker Ramón Orozco said during a press conference, because shooting time is shorter, and filmmakers have more control over the development of the production. Orozco is the director of de La curiosa conquista del ampere e Isi Sarfati, and the cinematographer of Tierra y pan, short films that are in Program 3 of the Morelia International Film Festival’s competition. Marie Benito’s El deseo, and David Pablos’ La canción de los niños muertos, are also part of the program. Pablos shares his experience filming the story of a family in which the mother has died, they end up deteriorating to the point of humiliation. He said that he chose the child actors during a round of auditions he did in elementary schools, as he didn’t want to work with professional actors.
