The Beast Must Die was presented at the 21st edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), with Eddie Muller, director of the Noir City Film Festival.

"The film you are about to see is here thanks to the efforts of my fellow filmmaker, Fernando Martin Peña, originally from Buenos Aires, although I was also a little involved," said the film noir expert.

The screenplay for The Beast Must Die, written by Román Viñoly Barreto and Narciso Ibáñez Menta, is based on the novel by Nicholas Blake and tells how Frank Cairnes' life changes in seconds when his six-year-old son is killed by a hit-and-run car, giving Frank the mission to find out who was driving the car in order to avenge his son's death.

Eddie Muller shared with the audience that there is a common misconception about the discovery of this film.

"This film is really unknown outside of Argentina and it was said that the discovery of The Beast Must Die was a mere coincidence; the reality is that Fernando Martín Peña had been looking for it for 20 years, but had difficulties in accessing it due to bureaucratic and political issues," he explained.
