The call for the 7th CIFFR and the competition for the Yellow Robin Award 2018 is now open

The Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam (CIFFR) opened the call to integrate the out of competition program of its seventh edition, as well as for the competition for the Yellow Robin Award 2018. The 7th CIFFR will be held from the 11th to the 15th of April next year.

The Yellow Robin Award consists of a cash prize, participation in a talent development program and screening of the film in the Bright Future program of the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2019, as well as a special screening in the sixteenth edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).

To compete for the Yellow Robin Award, CIFFR looks for feature films or creative documentaries from emerging filmmakers. With this competition, the festival aims to promote, support and contribute to launching the careers of talented filmmakers from the Caribbean and Latin America.

This year, the feature film by Alejandro Andújar, The Watchman, winner of the 2017 Yellow Robin Award, was screened at the 15th FICM as part of a special CIFFR program that also included the feature film Double Play (2017, directed by Ernest Dickerson).

The CIFFR is an initiative of Fundashon Bon Intenshon organized in cooperation with the Rotterdam International Film Festival, which aims to inspire film lovers and help young filmmakers from Latin America and the Caribbean.
