Celebrate México Now To Screen Winners of 7th FICM

The short films that will be shown are: Señora Pájaro (Mrs. Bird) by Véronique Decroix, Best Fiction Short; ¿Y el agua? (And the Water?) by Dominique Jonard, Best Animated Short Film; Nebraska by Adrián Ortiz, Best Film of the Michoacán Section; El suicidio del tiempo (Pavel González) by Daniel González Olvera, Best Short Documentary, and Felipe by Lenz Claure, García Bross/ Studio 5 de mayo special prize.

Celebrate México Now, an annual festival of contemporary Mexican cultural and art, will be held September 16 to 30, 2010, in different parts of New York City.

“The program goes from launching Paco Ignacio Taibo II’s book, the presentation of the album Ely Guerra in New York, to the exhibit of an installation dedicated to an environmental theme -- the tradition of cultivating earthworms,” said Claudia Norman, festival director.
