ATRÁPELO QUIEN PUEDA Arrives at the Screens of the 24th Morelia International Film Festival

The 24th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) was the setting for the premiere of Atrápelo quien pueda, which was attended by Jaime Camil, Natalia Téllez, Isabela Arroyo and Ricardo Polanco, who accompanied the screening of the film and shared with the attendees some reflections on acting work.

Jaime Camil expressed deep gratitude to all attendees for fulfilling the dream of presenting a film at the Morelia Film Festival, highlighting that it is one of the most beautiful places in the world and a cinematographic community.

Throughout the meeting, Camil and Natalia Téllez talked about imposter syndrome and vulnerability as part of the personal and professional experience. Both reflected on the importance of stopping chasing an idealized version of oneself and accepting one's own identity, without trying to fit into other people's expectations. In this sense, they stressed the value of finding people and spaces where it is possible to show oneself authentically.

Another topic was the process of building the characters. Camil spoke about the importance of table work with directors like Alfonso Pineda, a stage that can extend for weeks and in which the motivations, emotions, joys and sorrows of each character are explored. This process allows acting decisions to come from a deeper understanding of their circumstances, rather than responding solely to the needs of the script.

Rejection was also discussed as a constant in the acting profession. Faced with the rejections that go hand in hand with auditions and the search for opportunities, there's a need to develop resilience, perseverance and confidence in order to continue practicing the profession without losing the passion for it.

Concluding, Camil said that cinema is a comprehensive industry where all genres coexist and benefit each other, from profound art dramas to romantic and commercial comedies. He went on to say that there must always be a balance between all genres, and the relevance of each is vital to keep the industry alive and connect with different types of viewers.

The presentation of Atrápenlo quien pueda became a meeting space between attendees and its protagonists, where, in addition to sharing the film, a conversation was opened about the authenticity, perseverance and diversity that characterize cinematographic work.
