Julio Alemán captivates audience in Morelia

[imagen]He arrived dressed in an elegant grey suit. When he came in, Julio Alemán received flattering comments from several of the women at the Cine Colonial and applause from everyone in the audience. The homage to this Morelia-born actor took place at the same time as the inauguration of the Cine Colonial, which burned down several years ago, and which has become a new site for FICM activities.

Alemán, who humbly said that he didn’t deserve the homage, thanked the festival and the audience for the recognition and dedicated it to his wife, “with whom I have lived for 45 years and have raised six children.”

After a moving round of applause, the film El Tunco Maclovio directed by Alberto Mariscal was shown.

Afterwards, before the screening of the film Los Hermanos del Hierro, the honoree played the song A mi manera accompanied by the mariachi Bermúdez.

“You’re as gorgeous as ever,” called out one fan.

Julio Alemán did not leave the event until he shook hands with audience members and signed autographs.
