Alejandro Ramírez, President of the FICM, Will Receive the Marquee Award 2018

Alejandro Ramírez Magaña, president of  Morelia International Film Fest (FICM), will receive the Marquee Award 2018, granted by the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO).

The also General Director of Cinépolis, the largest film exhibition company in Latin America, will receive the award in recognition of his dedication, commitment and service to the film industry.

The National Association of Theater Owners is focused on helping exhibitors to understand and use film technologies to face the challenges of the global industry.

The award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 24, during the official NATO convention, which will take place from April 23 to 26 at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Alejandro Ramírez has served as Mexico’s Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and as Technical Secretary of the Social Cabinet in the Executive Office of the President of Mexico. He has worked for the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program in the areas of poverty and human development. He is Chairman of the Mexican Business Council, the most influential business organization in Mexico.

Recently, he was named president of the World Film Federation (GCF), a global body that represents the global interests of exhibitors in more than 90 territories.
