Image Cruz, Nancy She studied Public Communication at the Guadalajara University. In 2013, she began studying screenwriting, filmmaking and editing at the University Center for Film Studies (CUEC-UNAM), Mexico. In 2011, she received a scholarship from the Program of Encouragement to the Creation and the Artistic Development (PECDA), Mexico, in the category of Young Creators. Her work Azul turquesa (2014) received an Honorable Mention for film schools at the Latin American Video and Audiovisual Arts Festival in Rosario, Argentina; it was also the winner of the Distribution Award at the International Film Festival about Sexual Diversity and Gender (Libercine), in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her next work, Venus 2.0 (2016), has been shown in diverse festivals like the 11th São Paulo Latin American Film Festival, Brazil; the REC Festival for Public Universities in La Plata, Argentina; and the Queretaro Student Documentary Film Festival, (DOQU16), Mexico, among others. Her most recent work, Mariachi Nights (2016), is part of the Official Selection of the 14th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
