Image Espitia; Manuela Irene She studied his bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Television at CENTRO, Mexico City, and her master’s degree in Screenplay at the London Film School (LFS), London. With her project Monstruo de Xibalbá, she obtained the Young Creators Scholarship of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) in 2010. In 2013 she participated in the Cinematographic Screenplay International Workshop Cine Qua Non Lab (CQNL) based in Tzintzuntzán, Michoacán. In the same year she participated in the Course on Development of Ibero-American Cinematographic Projects of the IBERMEDIA Program and the Carolina Foundation. In 2018 she was selected for the IMCINE and the TyPa Foundation workshop for first and second films, which was carried out in Splendor Omnia, Tepoztlán. Her short film Un gesto (2015) was part of the Short Film Official Selection of the festivals: 13th Morelia International Film Festival (2015), the 28th Cinelatino Toulouse Festival (2016), Shorts Mexico (2016), among others. In January 2018 she filmed the short film Sol del llano in Colombia and co-edited the feature film El paraíso de la serpiente, by director Bernardo Arellano; both films are part of the Official Selection of the 17th Morelia International Film Festival.
