Image Polgovsky; Eugenio Born in 1977 in Mexico City, Eugenio Polgovsky dedicated his work to the reality of the inhabitants of rural Mexico and to the borders between nature and modern civilization. He studied Direction and Cinematography at the CCC Film Training Center. His documentaries Tropic of Cancer (2004), The Inheritors (2008), Mitote (2012) and Resurrección (2016) were recognized at the most prestigious festivals in the world; his films stood out for their original poetic, ecological and humanistic language. He received four Ariel Awards, the José Rovirosa UNAM award, a prize from the Hubert Bals fund of the Rotterdam Festival and the Joris Ivens Award from the Cinemma du Réel Festival, in addition to more than 30 international awards. In 2010, he was guest director of the Robert Flaherty Seminar at Colgate University. Le Monde described him in 2011 as "A Magician of the Cinema" and, in 2016, he was the first filmmaker to receive the distinction as a Fellow of the Arts from Trinity College of the University of Cambridge, in England.
