González Iñárritu; Alejandro

He was a radio announcer at WFM Radio before getting into directing. He made soundtracks for different films and was in charge of commercial production at Televisa. In 1991, he founded the production company Zeta Films. His debut film, Amores perros (2000), received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film and won over sixty prizes, making it the most awarded film in the world that year and opening up a new era for Mexican cinema. His second feature length film, 21 Grams (2003), starred Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, and Naomi Watts. In 2006, Iñárritu finished his third film, Babel, which starred Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt. Babel concluded the trilogy that began with Amores perros, and it earned Iñárritu the Best Director award at Cannes and received seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. In 2010, he wrote and directed Biutiful, which premiered at Cannes and received Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor
