Ruiz, Rafael

He studied audiovisual art at the University of Guadalajara (U. de G.), Jalisco, Mexico. He participated with his short fiction film Amores ridículos (2011) in the 6th Short Shorts Film Festival Mexico (SSFFM); the 14th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF); and the 22nd Latin American Film Festival of Trieste, Italy. He received the Young Creators Grant of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), during the 2012-2013 period, for the creation of his animated short film Hola (2013), which was part of the Official Selection of the 12th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He has participated with this film in the 7th Animasivo, Contemporary Animation Forum, Mexico City; the 29th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), Jalisco; the 1st Aguascalientes Film Festival, Mexico (FICAGS); and the 17th GIFF, Guanajuato, among others.
